I have Windows Pro 10 running on a hardware raid 1. Hardware fulfills the conditions for Windows 11.

How do I upgrade to Windows 11? What happens to the existing raid? Do I have to reset the BIOS to non-raid-settings before installing Windows 11?

Before upgrading, it's recommended to ensure that you have the latest RAID controller drivers compatible with Windows 11. Check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers.

Make a complete backup of your important data.

Download the Windows 11 installation media (ISO file) from the official Microsoft website.

Create a bootable USB drive with the Windows 11 installation media.Insert the bootable USB drive into your computer and boot from it. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the Windows 11 installation.

When you reach the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen, you should see your RAID 1 array listed. Select the RAID array as the installation target. Windows 11 will treat the RAID array as a single disk.

    Hi,

If the hardware controller is embedded in the motherboard, keep the sata or nvme mode as raid in BIOS so that the current raid volumes are still available. If Windows 11 ships with the raid controller driver, it can be installed as normal, otherwise you have to install the raid controller driver manually or the raid volumes won't be listed.

    Best Regards,
