Hello!
When I runned Windows update, I recieved following:
"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080005)"
I have run the windows troubleshooter for the update feature, but it has not resolved issue.
I'm using Windows 10 Pro,
version 20H2
build 190421348

The error code 0x80080005 means ‘access denied.’ In the context of Windows Update, the message ‘There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later’ indicates that updates were scanned and downloaded correctly, but the installation of the downloaded update failed.
I suggest you start by reviewing and making sure that you don’t have any third-party applications such as antivirus or other security software that could be interfering with the installation of new files included in the update. If you have such products, temporarily disable them during the installation of the update.
Take note of the KB that failed to install. You can see this in the Windows Update history page. Alternatively, you can check the Windows Update log by manually generating it with the cmdlet ‘get-windowsupdatelog.’ Make sure to run this cmdlet as an administrator.
Next, review errors in the two most recent CBS log files located in C:\windows\logs\cbs.

What worked for me was going into folder options in my computer......and removing the check mark where it says hide protected operating system files.

I tried the steps in the link and they did not resolve the issue. Windows updates KB4023057 and KB5033372 have failed with 0x80080005 since October. I have tried multiple other suggested solutions (dism.exe and sfc scans, etc). I have not had a single issue with Windows Updates until now.

Well after trying everything I ended up doing an in-place upgrade. That got me further (and I was able to install several updates), but am now stuck with error 0x800706be on 2023-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 (KB5033372). I guess I'll start a new thread if I can't find a solution for the new error.

I've exactly the same problem, and it began at exactly the same time as the OP began experiencing their problems. Similarly, WIN10 Pro.
My PC is now so slow, it's hardly usable. Plus, there's a double cd motif that intermittently replaces the cursor when the RAM is thinking about doing stuff.
Plus, plus, my i3 processor isn't compatible with WIN11, so I can't try that, either. Shocking, really.

Try this:
Open administrative Command Prompt and type following commands one-by-one followed by Enter key.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
Close Command Prompt and see if Windows Updates works then.
