Getting "Incorrect Function" when attempting to initialize new SSD

I am attempting to clone the existing SSD in my HP laptop so that I can add this new PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD. The new drive is in an M.2 enclosure and shows in Disk Management as unknown and Not Initialized, but when I attempt to Initialize, I get the "Incorrect Function" error. I can see the device in the Device Manager. I have attempted restarting but receive the same error. I am stuck. Any ideas? A little frustration here, can someone help?

Hello, Thank you for posting in Q&A forum. Please run below command in CMD window: diskpart list disk If there's no disk number of your new SSD, please consider: 1.Check if this SSD is compatible with your laptop. 2.Update to the latest driver and see if this issue still exists. You can go to the device manager, right-click on the storage controller and chipset devices and choose "Update driver." Hope this answer can help you well. Best Regards, Hania Lian
