Port Connection notification and alert

I am learning Azure and I have a need to create alert and email notification, when a client connects to specific ports on the Windows Server which is running in Azure. I have searched some topics here as well and looked over MS learn, but I still hesitate, which solution I should approach, Azure Monitor or Network Watcher. I also have very limited budged in this tenant.

On top of what you said, Azure Network Watcher is also able to create alerts and email notifications when a client connects to specific ports on the Windows Server running in Azure. Azure Network Watcher provides a set of tools to monitor, diagnose, and gain insights into your network performance and health.

And on the other hand, Azure Monitor is a comprehensive monitoring service that aggregates logs and metrics from all Azure services, including virtual networks (VNets).

If you need basic monitoring across all Azure services, including VNets, Azure Monitor is your go-to choice.

For network-specific troubleshooting, especially when dealing with VNets, Network Watcher provides the necessary tools.
