My Microsoft developer account, which is an administrator account, has authenticator application verification turned on.

But I accidentally deleted the authenticator and there is only one organization administrator account.

Trapped in a loop, logging in to the authenticator requires authenticator verification,

    I have asked Microsoft employee to provide a guide for this going forward. They have provided the information below.

    Please use the following as a guide to reaching out to the Data Protection team:

    Global Admin Account Locked/Unable to access Entra ID Portal (Due to Authenticator App issues/Security Defaults/Incorrect configuration of Conditional access policy)

    @zy

    Thank you for your post!

    Adding onto what was shared by Dillon, since you don't have access to the Microsoft Authenticator app to complete your MFA.

    Unfortunately, when it comes to lockout scenarios (Outlook or Microsoft accounts), the recommended way to regain access to your account is through the account recovery form, if you can't receive a verification code for any reason.

    I apologize for the inconvenience but please keep in mind that the recovery process is designed to protect your account and its contents.

    • Note: If you enabled the Backup and Recovery feature you should be able to recover your account credentials. For more info

    For future reference, I'd also recommend creating and managing an emergency access account in MS Entra ID, this will help prevent being accidentally locked out of your MS Entra ID organization for any reason.

    I hope this helps!

    If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thank you for your time and patience throughout this issue.
