Can we use cloud witness share on prem cluster node and Azure node.

We have 3 node cluster running on -prem and additional third configured on Azure cloud which we added recently . (Two node on prem and one node on Azure cloud)

The existing file share witness quorum disk is configured on NAS drive - on prem.

Can we use cloud witness share for both on Prem cluster nodes and Azure cluster node.

This feature is useful during DR like scenario, and we don't have access to NAS drive after migrating resources to Azure cloud. that time Cloud witness will work as quorum, and even if we fail back again to on prem it will use cloud witness. Will this work. Any thoughts.

    Hi N Wakchaure, Jagdish,

    Hope you're doing well.

Yes, you can use a cloud witness as a quorum witness for both your on-premises cluster nodes and the Azure cluster node. This setup can be beneficial, especially in scenarios where access to on-premises resources like NAS drives may not be available, such as during a disaster recovery event or when migrating resources to the cloud.

    Best Regards,

In short - yes. Cloud witness share is suitable for on-premises and Azure hosted clusters , in particular for multi-site clusters
