Can we focus furthermore to the results of upgrading a non-qualified device to Windows 11?

Given that the only prerequisites not met are CPU and TPM (MoSetup),

and that a WIM file will be deployed with a 'DISM apply image' command after locating the file (version matched with index source);

predictably on the reboot there will be on-screen instructions to finalize the upgrade.

Given also that there can be ignored by the administrator the unavailability of the security fixes and what else typically expected for this scenario as with the end of support for Windows 10 by next October.

Is the specific process meant to move forward with keeping data and files?

A watermark and an option to go back in ten days is all to have to deal with most probably?

Excuse me the narrowed view about this, I could just use another hard drive to try, but it's unlikely to do anything anyway since it's 'not recommended' so kindly!

what is left then is to calculate if the procedure with the WIM file can be simply encouraged;

the user can estimate if issues weigh down badly and go back within ten days.

Keep in mind that we 're talking for a Windows 10 pc which has written a history of problematic performance and partly incompatibilities.

As long as the inoperable deadlock can be statistically excluded, why not contribute to evaluation at least?

It's not like I 've been granted a contract here for security invulnerability,

and, hey, what other problems? Contractual ones again?

Anyway, if you think to just apply the image won't make any difference,

because I think now I understand from Win 10 already why CPU is acting frequently at100% slowing up some of the performance,

logical processors is not the same with core;

then I could make sure that running the wim file as esd- I think the path to wim will work as esd without any esd present there, right?

And just like that this device will have moved on earlier than planning to replace the cpu with its quad equivalent which was replaced even previously by the insistent urgings of a tech department for unknown reasons about four or five years ago. I think that must have been a quad core.

Finally I have made a test with an empty hard drive formatted in NTFS.

The wim file from a mounted ISO file was applied as an image from a running pc, then all was shut down and disconnected.

The first boot failed and a few bcd entries were added next. The second boot was able to initialize in Preparing Windows and Gettings Started; it went on with the logo screen for about three or more minutes, then popped up a message that Setup Configuration 'is not able to complete with the current hardware'.

On clicking OK, the logo screen said 'now is restarting" and could not come back from a blank state even from power off.

It seemed then that Windows 11 edition is kind of explicitly incompatible to run at all, not just upgrade this device.

Almost all computers running Windows 10 can run Windows 11 in a supported or unsupported fashion.

The go back feature by default is 10 days.

It can be modified to 60 days.
