    Hi IT HEAD,

Exposing firewall ports on your Ubuntu instance in Azure itself does not incur any direct charges.

Although opening ports does not cost money, data moving in and out through these ports may incur charges. Azure charges for outbound data transfer above a certain threshold.

If you use additional security services, such as Azure Firewall or NVA, to manage traffic and protect your ports, there could be costs associated with these services. These services provide added security but come with their own set of fees based on the configuration and the scale of use.

Azure provides a service called Azure DDoS Protection, which helps protect your applications against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, if you have enabled this charge on your Vnet, you will also be charged for this.

If you do not have a resource linked to your VM, you will only have to pay attention to the bandwidth output, but remember that it is not recommended to leave a port exposed to the entire internet, without any protection.

Check that your operating system has the latest update and does not have any services with published and unpatched CVE.
