Virtual PC keeps disconnecting Video while on battery

I have a laptop with Windowns 11 PRO. I use a virtual machine with gpu passthrough for work applications. It has an NVIDIA RTX 4070 and Intel IRIS. It works flawlessly while on AC. The moment I work on battery, VMCONNECT disconnects if I leave the vmconnect window unattended for more than a couple of minutes. Even while working on it, it will disconnect randomly but less frequently. Obviously it has something to do with some battery saver functionality on the NVIDIA GPU that is breaking the video to the virtual machine. Does anyone know what setting it might be? Or is it just driver issues with gpu passthrough?

    Hi CAGM,

    Hope you're doing well.

    1. NVIDIA GPUs have a power management mode that can dynamically adjust performance based on power source (AC or battery). This should prevent the GPU from reducing performance when running on battery power.
    2. Some newer laptops may have BIOS options to disable features like NVIDIA Optimus. However, be cautious, as disabling Optimus might force the OS to use the integrated GPU for everything.
    3. Ensure that your NVIDIA GPU drivers are up to date. Sometimes driver updates address compatibility issues or improve performance.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
