Issues with old Application on RDS, AppVirtualization?

I am in the process of testing an RDS server for a subset of users. One application that they need to use is fairly old and appears to only allow one user to run it at a time. When a user launches the application it appears to lock several files that prevents other users from running a second instance of this application. I thought there was a way of virtualizing an application that in theory would provide a workaround for this issue. But I can't recall for certain if it's possible or how best to accomplish it. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
