Unlike file version history, where versions are created automatically each time there is a slight change to the file, versions on a document set needs to be created manually each time.

1.Select the document set -> Capture Version -> Enter the comment -> Ok.

    2.See the version created.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Check for Deleted Documents: If you have deleted documents from the Document Set, this might cause errors when trying to access the version history. Restoring a previous version of a Document Set creates another version, but if files were deleted previously, it might result in an error.
    2. Versioning Settings: Navigate to the Library settings and then to Versioning settings. Try turning off the versioning feature, wait for a few moments, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the functionality and resolve any errors.
    3. Restore Previous Versions: If you're trying to access a specific version of a document within the Document Set, ensure you're selecting the correct version from the version history list. Sometimes, selecting an older version might only display the version history instead of the actual document.
    4. Use SharePoint Support: Since this seems to be a technical issue, it might be best to reach out to Microsoft SharePoint support again. Provide them with the correlation ID from the error message, as this will help them diagnose the problem more effectively.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be necessary to continue working with Microsoft support or consider reaching out to a SharePoint expert who can provide more personalized assistance. Remember to provide as much detail as possible when seeking help, including any error messages and steps you've already taken to try to resolve the issue.
