Hello
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
This is not necessary. The AxMSTSCLib and MSTSCLib libraries are ActiveX controls and COM libraries provided by Microsoft for remote desktop connections. Using these libraries themselves does not require a separate license, as they are part of the Windows operating system and can be legally used to develop remote desktop client applications.
At the same time, connecting to a remote computer using the RDP protocol does not require a separate license, as long as the operating system running on the remote computer supports receiving RDP connections, such as Windows 10 Professional and Windows 7 Professional, which both natively support RDP services. Make sure that the Windows 10 Professional and Windows 7 Professional computers you are connecting to have their own licenses legally activated.
It is worth noting that since Microsoft has stopped official support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020, we strongly recommend upgrading your system to Windows 10 to avoid functional loss or security risks that may be caused by relying on an outdated system.
I hope the information above is helpful.
Best Regards,
Yanhong Liu
