Why does HDInsight quota show 0 available cores?

When I view my quotas, I am not using any vCores, and it says I have 36 cores available. But when I try to set up a HDInsight Spark Cluster in the West Europe region it says I have 0 available. I have a pay-as-you basic subscription.36 Cores Available

@NLE87 - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

As per the above the screenshot you are searching for provider is Compute

For Azure HDInsight service the provider should be Azure HDInsight

And I'm able to create Azure HDInsight cluster with the available cores as shown below:

In case, if you don't have quota available for the specific region, you can check the other regions and in case, if you don't have enough quota for the specific region - you can request quota increase for Azure HDInsight.

Here is the additional information if you are using Azure free trial / Student / Pass subscription.

Currently the HDInsight Cluster is not available under the Azure free trial / Student / Pass subscription.

For more details, refer Azure Free Trial - FAQ.

Reason: Azure Free Trail has a limit of 4 cores, and you cannot create HDInsight cluster using a Free Trial Subscription because it requires more than 8 cores.

You need to upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription to create Azure HDInsight clusters.

Note: Free Trial subscriptions aren't eligible for limit or quota increases. If you have a Free Trial subscription, you can upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
