RDP window does not close on disconnect when using a Remote Desktop Gateway

Hi I am connecting to a numer of different servers in our enviornment using RDP through a Remote Desktop Gateway.

I have tried to connect both from a Windows 11 client but also between the servers in the server environment.

Connecting and working with the RDP session works just fine.

However, when I disconnect from the server (properly, not just hitting the "X") then the session ends and the window turns black, but it does not close.

In fact, there is no other way to close it but to go in to the Task Manager and kill it.

It is the same behaviour regardless of which server I connect to (I tried 10 different servers and every RDP windows hangs with black content on disconnect). And again, same result regardless if I connect from my client computer or from a server in the environment, using the Remote Desktop Gateway.

I have no other RDS components installed. Just the Remote Desktop Gateway.

All systems have been pached with the latest security patches.

What to do? I want to launch this solution to the internal organisation but there is no way that it will accepted if people have to kill the RDP windows using Task Manager every time.

Cheers
