Since OfficeDevPnP.Core is not supported in .NET 8, are there alternative libraries or approaches to connect to on-premises SharePoint using ADFS authentication in a .NET 8 application?

Current Situation:

  • Existing applications written in .NET Framework use OfficeDevPnP.Core.IdentityModel.TokenProviders.ADFS for token generation with ADFS.
  • SharePoint is on-premises.
  • PnP Framework is not suitable due to its reliance on Azure AD.
  • Modifying ADFS authentication is not an option due to the current infrastructure setup with multiple domains.
