    Before I answer, I want to stress the importance of consent in this situation. While this may help your sister technically, if she does not consent to this, you are violating her privacy. That said, here is my take on this:

    1. Yes, a remote desktop solution can indeed help you help your sister technically. This would allow you make changes to the software when she forgets or is unable to do so herself due to her condition. You would be able to make these changes from wherever you are when she needs the help.
    2. Trustworthiness is based on how secure you make it. Microsoft Remote Desktop Service is encrypted, but weak authentication credentials would mean anyone who guesses them can get in and by having this service enabled you do open a vector of attack on the system it is installed on. This means whatever account you set up for this service needs to be locked down to just you and if possible, have multifactor authentication. I also recommend always keeping your system up to date with the latest security patches.
