I have a BitLocker protected USB with important documents that I can no longer access because the PC where I created the BitLocker has died. I have the BitLocker recovery key and password, but since I am now using a different PC, I cannot open my documents. Is there any solution to this problem?

    Hello,

You can still access your BitLocker-protected USB drive on a different computer. Here's how:

    1. Insert the BitLocker-protected USB drive into the new computer.
    2. When prompted, select "Enter recovery key" or "Enter BitLocker recovery key."
    3. Enter the 48-digit BitLocker recovery key that you have.
    4. Click "Unlock" or "Next" to continue.
    5. If you're prompted to enter a password, enter the BitLocker password you used when you set up BitLocker on the original computer.
    6. Once the drive is unlocked, you should be able to access your files.

Make sure that the BitLocker service is enabled on the new machine and that you have the necessary permissions to access the drive. If you encounter any issues, ensure that your new PC’s operating system supports BitLocker and that it’s properly updated.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
