Greetings,

One of our customers is using a Windows Server 2016 RDS and one of the users is having an issues where once in a while a Whitebar appears on top of the screen... This only happens when the Windows are maximized, when you make the Window smaller it dissappears.. This happens with Chrome, Foxit PDF Reader/Adobe Reader and the explorer. In Chrome you can use F11 to go fullscreen and use it again to exit fullscreen and it will fix the issue from Chrome. But this does not work for the Explorer and the PDF Readers. When the user logs out completely and logs back in, the issue is fixed. Weirdly enough it only happens to 1 out of 4 employees... Any idea on how to fix this?

    Hello,

    The problem seems to be a known problem. Based on other user reports, you can try to fix this problem by setting specific registry keys:

    Press Start + R type "Regedit' and press enter In left panel browse through

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Avalon.Graphics

    Right click on right panel and add new value:

    Name= 'DisableHWAcceleration"

    Value = dword:00000001

    In addition, make sure you are using the latest version of the RD client. And check to install the latest patches and updates in Windows Update on the server and client to improve system stability.

    Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, refer to How to back up and restore the registry in Windows.
