Microsoft's official requirements state that for AMD processors, only Zen 2 and newer architectures are supported. The Ryzen 5 2500U is based on the first-generation Zen architecture.

Microsoft decided to draw the line at processors released from 2018 onwards. The Ryzen 5 2500U was released in late 2017, just missing this cutoff.
