Power BI vnet data gateway monitoring and statistics

I am trying to locate information on how to monitor an Azure vnet data gateway for power BI. Being a SAS service that deploys a container behind the scenes, I wonder if there is a process to monitor it or perhaps write a powershell script that would notify an email if the vnet data gateway was down.

Monitoring and performance statistics is also another area, from the power BI page there are no statistics showing performance etc.
