There are numerous samples of how to use Windows Media Player within an application. That however is all quickly becoming out of date. Windows Media Player refuses to work in 64 bit.

Does ANYWAY know of ANY audio / media player control that will work in 64 bit ? Any help would be very appreciated.

    Hello c smith,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

While Windows Media Player has become outdated for 64-bit applications, there are several modern alternatives for audio/media playback controls that work well in 64-bit environments:

    • NAudio
    • BASS Audio Library
    • VLC.NET
    • MediaElement in WPF
    • Windows 10 Media Foundation
    • FFmpeg
    • DirectShow.NET

Windows Media Player refuses to work in 64 bit.

WMP works in 64-bit : I use it for years in any language (C++, C#, VB.NET)

    (x64 process on Windows 10 22H2 64-bit)
