I am in leadership at a specialty animal hospital. We want to use Teams for our internal hospital medication requests to our pharmacy to be filled. Will you help guide me in finding the right tool to support our needs?

The hospitals current med Queue process requires the chart to be in a bin to signal to pharmacy to fill meds. The issue is there is only one physical chart and several processes that require the chart to be in a location to initiate the process.

Solution: Propose paging system or utilization of Teams. Each outpatient assistant will have the ability to message the assigned inpatient med pharmacy tech that meds are needing to be filled. Idea: have an ipad next to pharmacy computer have outpatient assistant message a pharmacy teams chat to communicate meds in que

Issue: about having a teams chat is if the chat is open there is no sound to alert the tech.

Must have Components:

Must have a sound alert with receiving messages to alert the pharmacy technician

Must be about to type message to communicate the department sending request and patient name

Must stay in chronological order to help tech fill meds in order of requested

    Hi @Gabriel Hurwitt

Based on your description, we recommend that you use the Approval app in Teams.

The clinic assistant can send approval notifications to the pharmacy technicians for the medications that need to be filled, so that the pharmacy technicians can not only receive this message from the chat window, but they can also receive the approval reminder from the Activity. This avoids the situation where there is no sound reminder for the technician when the chat is open.

The pharmacy technicians can view the approval requests through the Activity interface or the Approval app, and these approval requests are in order.
