alt codes are different in the new windows

if i type ¥ alt+157 normally i get the sign for diameter, of alt+252 is a 3 in superscript, but now it's ⁿ.

    According to documentation, switch to English input language, and try these combinations on numeric pad:

    • <Alt+8960> for “⌀”
    • <Alt+0179> for “³”

    Or enter 2300 directly to Word document, then press immediately <Alt+X>, or B3 then <Alt+X>.
