Can you be more specific? What you do you mean you cannot create an RG? Are you doing this via the CLI? If so then provide the code you're using. Are you using the Portal? If so then provide the error details.

    Hello Michael,

Thank you for the quick reply. I used the portal to create a new resource group and I got error saying |The resource ADF was disallowed by policy". I don't why the portal did not allow me to create New Resource Group .

    Hello,

Do you have a screenshot or the error message of the error you see? Since you said NEW subscription, here are what you can check –

    1. Permissions – Check if you have permissions to create resource groups. Your subscription role should be owner or contributor to create a resource group. Also check for any RBAC (Role Based Access Control policies) that might be restricting your ability to create resource groups.
    2. Azure policy restrictions – There might be policies applied to your new subscription which are preventing you from creating a resource group.

Subscriptions also have limits on how many resource groups you can create but since your subscription is new, I do not think this applies but check this too.

    Hi Minh,

    Please follow this link -

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/role-based-access-control/role-assignments-portal

Remember - to assign roles, you must be signed in with a user that is assigned a role that has role assignments write permission. If you don't have permission to assign a role, contact the administrators of your subscription as they can assign the permissions on your behalf.

    Hope this helps.
