Connection to Mac Build Server keeps dropping

I am using VS2019 16.8.2 on Windows, I connect to a Mac Mini OS Catalina 10.15.6 with Xcode 12.1. They are both on the same wired network.

I can connect to the Mac to do a build but more often than not the connection drops and is not restablished during the build. I then have to reconnect which usually succeeds.

What is the likely reason the connection is dropping/failing?

    Is the Mac going to sleep? In System Preferences -> Energy Saver, there is a checkbox to prevent the Mac from going to sleep when the display turns off.

    Both machines are connected to the same LAN over Ethernet cable
