I am using Window Server 2022 AD, and I changed my DNS ip to new network. My old IP of DNS was 10.0.0.190 and my new DNS ip is now 192.168.7.100, I am facing a problem where my 100 user client(domain joined computer) using old DNS of 10.0.0.190 and after I changed to new network, their domain joined laptop of (10.0.0.190) didn't change to the new network of (192.168.7.100), I am not using DHCP, but I did changed the 'DNS manager' of everything to the new IP, it was changed automatic. I also applied GPO to the client to push new DNS of 192.168.7.100 but GPO said applied but the client DNS didn't change, and as of right now client using google DNS server 75.75.75.65,I don't want to manually change client computer dns server ip, i don't know what else I am doing wrong but their dns didn't change. Please help me with steps, thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To further check this issue, please kindly try:

1.Check if your DNS server is configured to forward DNS queries to external DNS servers.

2.Check if the DNS Records are correctly updated with the new IP address (192.168.7.100) on DNS server.

3.Refresh DNS cache on both of DNS client and server.

4.CheckGPO by CMD command gpresult /r on the client to verify which GPOs are applied and whether the DNS settings are included.

5.Run nslookup command with your DNS server and check if it can give a proper answer.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou
