On my new ThinkPad, Windows 11 Pro, the taskbar hides itself even with the checkbox in Settings un-checked. What keys in the registry control whether the taskbar hides itself, and which data do I need to change to fix it?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

If you have turned on Optimize taskbar for touch interactions when this device is used as a tablet, it can also cause the taskbar to auto-hide regardless of this Automatically hide the taskbar setting.

To address this, you could try the following steps:

    1. Open Settings: Press Win + I to open the Settings application.
    2. Navigate to Personalization: Select "Personalization" from the options.
    3. Go to Taskbar Settings: Click on "Taskbar" in the sidebar.
    4. Turn Off Optimize for Touch: Look for the option "Optimize taskbar for touch interactions when this device is used as a tablet" and toggle it off if it's on.

Once you've done this, check if the taskbar still auto-hides. If it does, you may want to ensure that the "Automatically hide the taskbar" setting is disabled.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
