Graph API - timeouts for requests

Hi.
We use Graph API to retrieve messages from the mailbox. Sometimes the HTTP connection is closed and we are wondering if there are any timeouts limits for Graph API requests? We notice this error when requests take a long time - about 60 seconds. We are using /v1.0/me/mailFolders('Inbox')/messages/delta endpoint.

Carolyne-3676 211 Reputation points2024-09-02T20:31:45.7733333+00:00 As far as I have seen, Microsoft Graph API has not documented any details explicitly on the timeout limit for Graph API requests. Timeout varies depending on the load on the server, size of the data being fetched etc. I would suggest a workaround of optimizing your requests such that you can do a retry with exponential back off to ensure that your application recovers from intermittent failures.
Rather than fetching all messages at once, you can also paginate your requests to fetch fewer messages per request. You might also want to use$selectquery parameter to only return the specific properties you need instead of returning all properties of a message. This can also help reduce the size of the response and potentially any timeouts.
