Even though I have the interactive-widget viewport meta tag set to overlays-content the virtual keyboard still resizes the viewport.

Which version of OS and browser do you test with? Have you tested in other browsers like Chrome and Firefox to see if they have the same behavior?
If possible, please provide a minimal code snippet which can reproduce the issue, so that we can have a test.
Edge 127.0.2651.111 on Android v14 and this does not happen on Chrome
I test with this demo from Chrome blog. In Edge Android, when interactive-widget=overlays-content, it resizes the viewport at first when the keyboard popups, but after scrolling the page, the viewport restores to the original state and doesn't resize anymore.
I'm not sure if the behavior is the same as your testing result. For your issue, I can only suggest that you can provide feedback to Edge team by clicking “Help and feedback” in Edge menu.
On mine the window starts at 645, goes to 697 when the keyboard is open, then 913 when the keyboard is closed an only goes back to 645 when I click back in the window.
Looks like the behavior is same for us. Please provide feedback to Edge developer team according to my previous comment to see if they'll fix this.

Hi @Alan Bradbury In Edge, you can click the menu button (three horizontal lines) on the bottom of right. Slide to the second menu page, click "All menu", then click "Help and feedback".

for me, it's similar. I am using Next.js and
interactiveWidget: "resizes-content"
get ignored in the latest mobile "edge"
In the latest Firefox and Chrome it's working.
That means, the virtual keyboard is obscuring my input (or textarea) when it has the focus in edge, not so in Chrome and Firefox.
