Hello,
This method does not directly deal with temporary RDS CALs. This command is used to uninstall a license key pack for a specific ID, whereas a temporary license is usually automatically assigned by the system to clients who do not have a perpetual license and may not be removed this way.
Temporary licenses are designed to expire automatically after a certain amount of time. If you want to delete them immediately, you may need to reset the database of the RD license server to clear all licenses.
Resetting the database for an RD license server involves the following steps:
To stop the Remote Desktop Licensing service:
Open services.msc
Locate the Remote Desktop Licensing service, right-click, and select Stop.
To rename or delete a database file:
Go to the following path (default location): %WINDIR%System32lserver
Rename or delete the TLSLic.edb file.
Restart the Remote Desktop Licensing service:
Return services.msc
Start the Remote Desktop Licensing service again.
After these steps are completed, the RD License Server will create a new, empty database and all existing licenses, including temporary licenses, will be cleared.
Please note: This will delete license data on all license servers, both formal and temporary. Before you do these steps, make sure that you have a backup and that you are confident that this is the step you want to take.
Best Regards,
Hania Lian
