Hi Microsoft community,
I have come across some odd occurrences lately - we have an app linked with SSO to our organization. User's typically use the SMS option to MFA in to the app. However, recently for a few users, the OTP has been sent via WhatsApp (using the account "Global OTP Services") instead of the usual SMS.
We have made no changes in our org. to allow for this.
Does anyone know what is possibly going on? I cannot seem to find where that would even be set, or if there was a Microsoft announcement.

We are having the same issues with random users and we are not on this list.

Eamon Skelly 0 Reputation points2025-01-16T08:39:45.8066667+00:00 This is quite old and the latest information we have is this post in the Admin messsage centre: https://admin.microsoft.com/?ref=MessageCenter/:/messages/MC926195 The issue is however that random users outside of India, Indonesia and new Zeland have received Whatsapp messages and there is no clarity or information as to a wider rollout, so we are not in a position to inform our Users whether to expect them or not.
