Hello everyone,

I am writing to you because I am working on a SharePoint project and I would like to have your advice on a problem I am encountering.

I have a Sharepoint list that the accounting department uses to track employees' orders. The person who takes care of it allows you to have a balance sheet of orders, make changes, etc.

Only this person can view this list.

But I am looking for a way to ensure that employees can see just their orders without seeing those of others.

I have automated a copy of a few columns from this list to separate lists (one for employees) with only their own, but I am wondering if there would be something simpler.

Is there a way to make this information available (not all the columns) so that employees can see only their orders?

I thought about a copy to viva but I don't know.

If you have any ideas or have already had the opportunity to work on a similar need, I am interested in collecting all your ideas :)

A big thank you to all and have a nice day.

Olivier

    Hi @Olivier-202

Welcome to the forums. If you're definitely using a list, there's one setting in list settings that may be of use for you. In the list settings, look at advanced settings --> item level permissions. Using these, you can configure users to see / edit only items that they've created.

The viability of this solution, of course depends on whether their credentials are the ones submitting, but if so, than this should do the trick.

    Hello @Emily Du-MSFT

Thank you very much for your answer and for taking the time to answer my question.

I will apply this setting but I just need to see how to make it mandatory and not modifiable by the people who will consult this list.

Thank you very much and have a nice day.
