Sound from YouTube and other media is only working when sound setting window is open

Hi.

I have a strange problem. My sound is only working when this particular sound setting window is open (sorry it's in danish, but I hope you recognize which window it is anyway). If I go to another sound setting window or minimize this window the sound stops working.

The issue seems to be with the headphones - if the sound comes through the speakers in the screen it seems to work.

I have of course tried to update/re-install all software and drivers relating to the sound and headphones, but still the same.

I am running Windows 11 Enterprise 24H2 with a so called Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.23.0 on a Lenovo PC.

Can anyone tell what could be the problem?

Thanks :-)

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
    Please try the suggestions below:

    1.Check Default Audio Device

Ensure that your headphones are set as the default audio device:

    1. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sound settings.
    2. Under Output, select your headphones and click Set as Default.

    2. Run the Audio Troubleshooter

Windows 11 has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix audio issues:

    1. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    2. Find Playing Audio and click Run.

    3.  Disable Audio Enhancements

Audio enhancements can sometimes cause issues:

    1. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sound settings.
    2. Under Output, select your headphones and click Device properties.
    3. Go to the Enhancements tab and check Disable all enhancements.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
