For a document set that is set to auto include various files, say spreadsheets, can metadata be set automatically for those files? For example, lets say I want Document Type to be "Process" for two files and "Product" for the other two.

Is this possible? There doesn't seem to be an option to set this in the Docu Set settings, and I tried to set these fields for the files before I added them into the Document Set, but the still get introduced without the metadata.

    Hi @Shaldon Datt,

Thanks for your trust and we are please to offer assistance.

To ensure we can thoroughly understand the issue and solve it more efficiently, we still need the following information:

    1. Does Document type refer to the default Content Type created in the list or your customized column? In SharePoint we don't have Document Type, we use Content Type to refer to the types of documents that can be added to the document library. User's image
    2. Do you upload most of excel files to the document library or do you create them via the New button? These two ways will affect the automatic recognition of file types. Please let me know if you have both.
    3. How would you determine if the Document Type of file you uploaded is Process or Product? is the file name or is there some other attribute that determines this? This is important for automatic file type recognition.

Looking forward to receiving further information from you as your response is very important to the whole process of solving the problem.

If there is any question, please feel free to contact me.
