This is my following error message while trying to connect to my Azure SQL database one day later. Originally, it was working, but when I had to try and sign in again with Microsoft Entra ID, I was unable to.
See the following error message:
Database 'proven-success-test-db' on server 'proven-success-test.database.windows.net' is not currently available. Please retry the connection later. If the problem persists, contact customer support, and provide them the session tracing ID of '{55410380-5F62-40AF-9A59-5AFA74CEBF89}'.

As per my understanding, you are getting an error message while connecting to your Azure SQL database.
This error might occur if there's already an existing dedicated administrator connection (DAC) established to the database. For more information, see Transient errors.
Please refer to this Documentation that might help you:
Go to the Azure Portal and navigate to the Resource Health section for your SQL Database. Look for any red-colored events that might indicate an outage or maintenance
Implement retry logic in your application to handle transient errors. This involves retrying the connection after a short delay, which can help if the issue is temporary.

What? James is trying to log on to Azure SQL Database. As far as I know there is no DAC on Azure SQL Database. The Dedicated Admin Connection exists in on-prem SQL Server and has its own dedicated scheduler, and thereby permits an admin to log on to SQL Server even if the server is hosed and does not accept connections.
I would agree though that this is sounds like a transient error. Like coming right the middle of a failover or some maintenance operation.

Ok - so the issue is basically that I just needed to wait a bit longer. When it shows up the first time, I just need to click "Continue" again after the error message shows up the first time.
