Hi,
Microsoft Teams Rooms requires specific Windows editions:
- Windows IoT Enterprise or
- Windows Enterprise SKUs
Windows 11 Pro is explicitly listed as not supported for Teams Rooms installations. This is a fundamental requirement that cannot be bypassed.
Microsoft's Official Requirements
According to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/rooms-lifecycle-support
"These other Windows editions aren't supported: Windows Enterprise Long-term Servicing Branch (LTSB) / Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) editions, Windows Internet of Things (IoT) Enterprise LTSB / LTSC editions, any other edition of Windows such as Windows Pro or Home edition."
Alternative Approaches
If you're looking to set up a meeting room solution, you have several options:
Upgrade your Windows license: Purchase a Windows Enterprise license to replace your Windows 11 Pro.
Purchase certified hardware: Microsoft Teams Rooms is typically deployed on certified hardware that comes with the correct Windows edition and software pre-installed.
Use standard Teams client: For simpler meeting room setups, you can use the regular Microsoft Teams desktop application with appropriate audio/video peripherals.
Teams Rooms as a Service: Consider a subscription-based solution from Microsoft partners that includes hardware, software, and support.
If you still want to proceed with Teams Rooms, you would need to:
- Change your operating system to Windows IoT Enterprise or Windows Enterprise
- Obtain a Teams Rooms Pro license
- Follow the deployment process using the CreateSrsMedia.ps1 script to create installation media
