How to I change my RTF back to Word
documents and downloads changed to RTF also words documents transfer into Chinese

1, When I try to download a word document that has been sent to me , I have to same into a notepad and it then saves in Chinese , so I cannot read it .
1, Since the last Microsoft update all my documents and and downloads have been changed to RTF .
the update will no longer allow me to save into PDF
