You must transfer the authenticator secrets to the new phone or you won't be able to log in. Do you have the old phone? Do you have more than one way of obtaining the code (like SMS text)? If you are using a Microsoft 365 for Education subscriptions, then your school's Microsoft 365 administrator should be able to help. If they can't you're out of luck. The whole point of two-factor authentication is to make it nearly impossible to log in unless you have both factors.
Can I call someone to help me out?
I got a new phone and I didn’t back up my Authenticator app. I’m trying to login into my excel for school and I need to enter the code to sign in but the code won’t pop up in my Authenticator. I click on I don’t have access to my authentication app and it still requires me to use the authentication app even though I said I don’t have access to it. When I try to set up the 2-step authentication it requires a code or a QR code to which I don’t have because I already used it when I first signed up. I have no clue what to do to get my app working again and none of these answers I’m looking at aren’t helping.
