Windows 11 shows wrong time zone but correct time after DST switch

After the start of daylight saving time last Sunday, all Windows 11 computers in our domain (as well as my private one which isn't domain joined) report their time zone in Settings > Time & language > Date & time as "(UTC+01:00)" which is incorrect. I am living in the EU which has Central European Time and daylight saving time is UTC+2.

However the clock has correctly been advanced by an hour so the actual displayed time of day is indeed UTC+02:00. (18:04 right now at 16:04Z.)

This has the unfortunate side effect that calendar entries originating from different time zones (such as meeting invitations from Microsoft support) show up in my calendar one hour too early. For example, a meeting scheduled for 14:00 UTC appears in my calendar at 15:00 when 16:00 would be correct.

At the same time, the Settings > Time & language > Date & time dialog shows last successful time synchronization 01/04/2025 08:49:01, well after the DST switch.

How is this even possible? As far as I know, NTP time synchronization done in UTC, so if Windows thinks it is in UTC+1 then the time it displays should also be UTC+1.

And more importantly, how can this be fixed?

    Hello Tilman Schmidt

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

How did you set daylight saving time last Sunday? You can try to stop daylight saving time temporarily and check if the problem disappears.

Then you can try to set daylight saving time based on the steps below.
