A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
Reddit 2Fa
I am having an issue with Reddit. Here are the steps I have done.
- disabled 2FA
- Changed my primary email
- logged into reddit on my phone and PC
- enabled 2FA with Microsoft authenticator.
- stored the backup 2fa code list safely.
- logged out of reddit on my phone relogged in and entered the new 2fa
- logged out of reddit on my PC relogged in and entered the new 2fa
A few weeks go by and now both devices are logged out and I can get past the password step or even request to change the password, then set it. So I know it was never taken over. but both the primary OTP and the backup 2fa codes do not work. Reddit throws and error "unknown server error"
Reddit states they have no control to recover or validate if a seed was valid and I was advised to talk with "my 3rd party 2FA app" for both OTP and backup codes. I feel as if I should not take the fault of this as I have maintained control and have the both OTP seed and backup code list.
Please advice me as what is the issue, or how I should proceed with Reddit.
