Microsoft Surface Dock Indicator Light Blinking

My Microsoft Surface Dock indicator light is blinking and won't charge my Surface Book 2 or connect it to my monitor also plugged into the docking station. It worked for about 2 months and now just blinks. I tried unplugging every part, unplugging anything in the USB ports, restarting and shutting down my surface book, and nothing works. What would solve this problem?

    Hello,

I’ve had the same issue a couple times. The only thing that works is to turn on the Surface with the original charger. After that you can connect it to the dock and it will work normally.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Adam_Needs_Help,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community.

Please check on the cables, connectors, and power supply brick of the dock if there are physical damages then try connecting the dock to your Surface in the opposite orientation and check if still the LED flashes instead of a steady light.

If the issue persist, attempt to do an update on the Surface Dock (see Update your Surface Dock). If in case issue persist, please contact support through our Global Customer Service phone numbers to check for replacement options available for your Surface Dock.

    Hope this helps.

    Hallo Marrion_Y,

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, nothing has worked thus far to fix my docking station. I called customer support for an hour, they transferred me to sales when they couldn't help, and then an automated voice came on and said no one was available and ended the call. I also have tried:

downloading updates for the surface dock

    unplugging everything from the dock

unplugging the dock from the wall, the computer, each part of the dock from each other

Forcing my computer to shut down

    Restarting my computer

    Trying a different outlet

Flipping the connector to the opposite orientation

    Cleaning out the port

However, none of this has worked.

The surface dock has been an extremely helpful product and at this point, I am just trying to get a replacement dock, but I cannot get through to anyone over the phone. What would my next steps be considering nothing I or the Microsoft agent did helped with the blinking indicator light issue.
