Good afternoon,

I am new to the community and experiencing randome crashing without error messages, on both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

I have re-installed Edge, disabled extensions, made Bing the default browser, cleared browsing cache to no avail.

Could you please help me rectify the issue as it is seriously affecting my ability to use the browser with confidence.

Thanks in advance.

    Carlo,

I had posted the below, minutes ago...

I have since tried your fix... Reset Settings. And thus far, my Edge has NOT Crashed... You may have the best/ right idea. No clue as to how the default settings would make a difference. But prior, Edge would last less than five minutes of use, before freezing. After resetting, it's been open for 20+ minutes (so far)
Thank you for posting a fix that actually works.

    Kirk

Same here -- Microsoft Edge no longer works as it should, Freezes; Not RespondingWindows 11Edge updated 2/4/2022 and is now version 98.0.1108.43 (Official build) (64 bit)

And it freezes pretty much constantly. I attempted a Roll Back, but doesn't work for me.... Apps >> Edge >> Uninstall (I don't have the Uninstall option; only a Repair option, which I tried). All of this started with an upgrade to Edge to the version listed above. Prior to the update Friday, it worked fine.Newer laptop, plenty of power, RAM, HDD space, etc.... not hardware related.Frustrating, so using Chrome more & more....

    Good Day OmarRigo,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

Here's the steps you can try.

    Reset the Edge

-Open Edge and click the 3 dots at the upper right side of your screen.

    -Go to Settings

    -Look for Reset Settings

-Click Restore settings to their default values.

(This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.)

    Restart and observe the Edge.

If issue persists, you can go to this link below and download and re- install the Edge browser.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...

    Download the version (98.0.1108.43)

Once downloaded and installed restart and check the Edge.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
