I noticed an issue with my mouse pointer today while I was on YouTube. The pointer would disappear when I hovered it over a video, and I discovered the problem was related to Windows inverted (system scheme) in the mouse properties setting.
Go to Settings \ Bluetooth & devices \ Mouse \ Additional mouse settings and click on the pointers tab then select scheme.
Once I changed it to standard default or black (system scheme) worked fine and had no issue with the mouse pointer in the Microsoft Edge browser. My latest Windows update: KB5045934 could the Microsoft team find a way to resolve this problem?

I would like to inquire about your qualifications for this so called Support Specialist role.
The issue in question is a well-documented problem with WDDM, specifically related to MPO. To resolve it, users need to disable MPO. Additionally, changing the mouse cursor style, as OP mentioned, can also be effective.
However, your response contains numerous inaccuracies and seems to disregard the original post. NVidia has even provided a registry file on their website to address known issues with Windows MPO (for the record since the issue is on WDDM itself, it affects AMD and Intel GPUs as well).
While we hope for a resolution from Microsoft, it is important to note that this issue has persisted for years.
Same problem on my Surface Laptop 5, Windows 11 Enterprise 10.0.26100.
It is catastrophic that the inverted pointer style disappears on almost EVERY page including this answers.microsoft.com community; in fact, I couldn't find a single page where I could see the mouse pointer. With this accessibility option, Microsoft Edge has NO MOUSE POINTER.
This issue exists for me as well on my Yoga Pro 9, Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100, after switching to Windows inverted color scheme in the "Accessibility -> Mouse Pointer and Touch" which will show a black color pointer against a light background and white cursor against a dark background or a split black and white cursor if the cursor is partly on a dark background and partly on a light background. It occurs on many sites, not just YouTube or other video sites, but also on Facebook, Amazon, CNN (even when not watching a video), and others. The problem seems to be related to the amount of memory and/or system resources which are used when the mouse settings are on the inverted scheme. The system uses resources at a much higher rate on the inverted scheme than when using the default scheme or even a custom color scheme. Please escalate this issue to the team which deals with such issues. Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Lon
Hello Silichip-X and welcome to the Microsoft Community!
According to your feedback, you are experiencing the disappearance of your mouse when hovering over a youtube video.
Let me explain it to you as I understand it.
This is not a system problem or an edge problem.
It's because it's based on the design logic of the video site, and you also mentioned that it's not a problem in the edge browser.
This is the design of the youtube website
This is to help improve the user's experience of watching videos, when watching videos
to avoid interfering with the user's viewing experience.
There are also some video workers who can be easily affected.
This problem is generally encountered on various video sites
At the same time, because the majority of users are using the default white mouse
So video sites are not designed to be compatible with all types of mice
Therefore, after you change the mouse style, the video site does not make your mouse cursor disappear.
You can contact youtube to see if there is a setting that will help you.
Let me know if you have any progress!
