Multiple windows when opening Edge.

Question

Running Edge Version 119.0.2151.72,

Every time I open Edge a second window opens up with an Amazon window. I first started noticing it with Ebay showing up in a second window and then creating multiple tabs. I removed the Ebay tab from my startup pages and then it started up with Amazon and Capital one tabs. How do I stop this from happening?

That didn't help. It seems to happen with Amazon and Ebay. After doing as you recommended. I opened an Amazon page. Immediately a second window opened with the same page except that the window is outlined in blue. Then a few seconds later a Captial one pages opens up.

By the way it also happens in Chrome but not Firefox.

i have tried everything that i know of and Amazon still has multiple repeated open windows. It is impossible to get rid of them fast enough because they multiply so fast. I have cleaned out my computer and there are no viruses, etc. so i can't figure out what is wrong. Other sites are all fine. I think the last time I was on Ebay the same thing happened though. Maybe it's not a problem on our end.

I don't see any solutions here ... same thing is happening to me now after windows ran an update. EVERY SINGLE BROWSER starts opening up multiple windows ... but it's only with Amazon. So weird. Not happening on other devices - only this desktop. Grrrr!

Have you tried checking your settings to see if its the one causing this? Click on the 3 dots then Settings >
Start, home, and new tabs > in When Edge starts menu, select the "Open the new tab page" > restart your browser.
