Error message when loading NEAT scanner

Hello, I've never tried this before, but despair drive me on.  My NEAT portable scanner stopped working abruptly and all efforts to get it going again have failed.

I've copied emails to and from the NEAT support people:

That missing dll file has to do with the .net framework that is on the computer when the OS is installed. It looks like there is an issue with the .net framework on this machine. We use .net framework 2.0 and that is built right into Vista. We have no way of fixing that. It is part opf the operating system. You would have to work on getting that fixed before our program will run on this machine.

Customer (Pensando) - 12/30/2009 05:51 PM I am desperate.  None of the above were any help!

As I've said to you many times before, whenever I try to open the Neat program on my computer, it fails to load and I get the following message:

Neatworks encountered an error: Unable to generate a tempory class (result=1).

Error CS2018: Unable to find mesagge file 'cscompui.dll'

I hope you are able to use this information to find a solution.

Please reply soon with an answer that works!

Hi Pensando,

Welcome to Microsoft answers!

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

Step 1: Make sureWindows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is started and set to automatic. To do this, follow these steps:

1.    Click on Start-Run, type "services.msc", the click on OK.

2.    When the Services window loads, navigate to the " Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service", the double click on it to open it,

3.    Make sure the "Startup Type" says "Automatic". If it doesn't, use the drop down menu to change it.

4.    If it already says: "Automatic", then click on the "Recovery" tab at the top, and change the "First Failure" line to "Restart the Service", then click on "apply", then OK.

If this doesn’t help,

Step 2: Download and install the latest .net framework, see the link below:

Check if the issue is resolved, if the issue persists, try step 3:

**Step 3:**re-register files the files to do this, follow the steps below.

a. Click on start and in the start search bar type cmd, right click on the command prompt icon in the programs area and then click on run as administrator.

b. at the command prompt type regsvr32 cscompui.dll and then press enter.

Type regsvr32****jscript.dll and then press enter

Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll and then press enter

    turns out neat connect nc 1000 has in its program no driver update.  so you can not download a driver or update one.. so do not lose the first driver you have.
