I've tried several times to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update, always unsuccessfully.  The last time I was given an error code FFFF.  What does that mean and what do I need to do?

Hello Milleniars,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community site.

I suggest you try to fix the issue with the steps in this link.

Error when you download updates using Windows Update or Microsoft Update: 8000FFFF

If the previous does not work, try to do a manual install of the two updates:

Unfortunately, the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 redistributable does not include the latest fixes; hence, you need to run the other three afterwards.

3.5 SP1 Redistributable:

Updates after the above installed:

Restart only after all four update are installed.

Let us know if these steps resolve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

Anthony
