manually install cab-files

Hallo alltogther

Cause win10-auto-update frequently sucks my Broadband volume dry (updating 4 pc) - i decided to do it manually and

download the files from update-catalogue. All works with .msu files, but with cab files never.

I use dism ( DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:xxx), but the same happens also with PkgMgr

CBS.log says:

CBS Failed to extract file update.mum from cabinet

And indeed,  there is not an update.mum file in the .cab (in any i tried).

So the question is:  How to install these files, or are they not for this purpose?

Regards Georg.

P.S  The OS is a win10-pro, 10.0.15063

    Dear MS-Team.

You sent me a mail and ask me for reply, if my question is not solved. But I've already done this above.

I again have the feeling, that only Bots answering - which can't understand my post.

Please read again my first post as I already posted - DaveM121 hasn't done this. What he (or it) proposes,

I've already done AND it is part of the problem.

    regards,

Open a Command Prompt as Administrator

(Click your Start Button, type cmd, right click Command Prompt and select RUn as Administrator)

Tun the following command and append the location of the CAB file

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:
