Hi,

during installation of Win 11 home on a new assembled computer pops up a message to install network driver in inf format. Intel provides exe files only. Windows did not found the exe file. How can i fix it? There is no alternative to skip the step or something else?!?!?

Hi, Michael 10 MKL

Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Based on your description, are you currently stuck in the OOBE (Out-Of-Box Experience) stage? You can try pressing Ctrl+Shift+F3 to see if you can bypass this stage.

Boot Windows to Audit Mode or OOBE | Microsoft Learn

If you can't skip it, you will need to contact Intel and ask them for an INF driver, and then mount and install the relevant driver.

Just to add: I tried via shift/F10 ,open task mgr and close the driver request, as shown in several videos from others few years ago, but it did not work anymore, Windows recognize it and open the task again. Official statement of Windows is it need an inf-file. If an exe file is present, just click on it, but you canot click, because you do not see it. You can choose the folder only where the driver is located and windows select inf file and ignore exe files.

Do i am really the first with this issue?
