Ethernet problems

Hi and thanks in advance for any help! Essentially I recently got a new Asus rt-ax55 router so that I can smoothly play on my meta quest 2 via airlink, which works perfectly for about 30 minutes and then for some reason the download speed to my PC falls from roughly 500mbps (1gbps max) to 80mbps (100mbps max) (Causing it to crash). Initially, I restarted my computer every time that this happened but after a couple of days that stopped fixing the issue and the only fix would be unplugging the ethernet cable to the new router and putting it back in. I'd like some help resolving this issue.

My PC:
Motherboard: B550 Aorus Elite AX V2

CPU: AMD ryzen 5 5600G
GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4

SSD: KINGSTON SNV2S2000G

• Cat6 Ethernet cable
• ~500mbps Virgin Media IPS (Virgin Media Hub 4)
• Router only has my computer, and my Meta Quest 2 connected (As well as the Virgin Media Hub for internet)
• I have run multiple download speed test all telling me that the download speed to my router is 500mbps and 80mbps to my PC
• Firmware for the router seems to be in date.
• I did not have this problem before I moved my ethernet cable to the new router. It worked perfectly fine on the Virgin Media Hub 4
• I would rather not change the ethernet cable from my pc to my router as it runs underneath the floorboard, up the wall and through the ceiling into my room
• Please ask for any other information you may need

    Will do tomorrow!

We found a spare 20m cable and it fixed the issue! Sorry for the bother and thanks for trying to help.

In order to determine if the problem concerns the router, the PC or something else, it is necessary to connect only the PC to the router and temporarily disconnect all the other devices connected to it, therefore also meta quest 2 and check if the download speed remains stable.

Hi, I am only able to use the same ethernet cable but after putting it into the main Virgin Media Hub 4 it does not drop at all after 30 minutes.

Edit: After about 2 hours the speed has now dropped to 94 mbps and I have to reset my PC to fix it.

Currently testing a direct connection with my PC to the Virgin Media Hub 4 using the cable that connected my Virgin Media Hub 4 to my router (Which never dropped below 500mbps). Initially working at 500mbps no problems.

    Hi,

it is necessary to test by temporarily connecting only your PC directly to the LAN port of the router via a standard 1.5 meter long network cable and check the speed.
