In May I got a cumulative update, and from then I am getting the error code 0x80070002 activation error. But before that there was no such issue. Please guide!

This error generally occurs when an attempt is made by the users to create a new account in their Outlook application.

Below are the reasons which are responsible for this unwanted error are:

If you get error code 0x80070002 and want a solution to this error, you can try out the simple method below.

Configure windows update service status.

SC config wuauserv start= manual
SC config bits start= delayed-auto
SC config cryptsvc start= auto
SC config trustedinstaller start= auto

You can also try other options like Running System File Checker or Resetting Windows Update components.

Error code: 0x80070002 is usually due to date/time issues, file corruption, or registry issues. This issue is not difficult to fix. When the system update fails this error leads to a data conflict problem. Hence, removing these corrupt files will fix the error.
